Kids Clothes week continues! Yesterday, after sewing the fleece pair from the tutorial, I cut out three more pairs. Today, I sewed up these two.
I mentioned in the tutorial that you could really make them cute by adding pockets and patches before sewing the legs closed. These pairs are an example of how some really quick and simple details can add a fun element to these pants.
The pockets and patches on the left are a rib knit. The pockets on the pair on the right were made from a scrap of flannel, with the main fabric as a detail.
I think it’s funny that I bought either of these prints. I was planning on making baby pants last year, and I wanted them to be green. I guess this is all I could find in green. They’re really not my style – the black and green one reminds me of something from the Cosby’s in the ’80s. But I think that as PJs, with the solid colors to ground them, they’re not bad.
