My husband, Matthew, makes things too. I posted a while back about the leather purses he made for Taylor and me. He has an Etsy shop called The Well Kept Thing where he currently sells things he makes out of leather. By day, he’s a graphic designer. By night, he’s a freelance illustrator and a crafter. What a neat guy I married!
Today I went and shipped two items that he sold, and I felt like a very helpful and proud wife. I thought that I would share his newest design here on my blog.
It’s a leather clutch. If the kids were younger, I’d be using it as a diaper pouch in my purse. Now it’s the perfect size for me to carry crochet hooks and needles in my bag without them getting lost. And if I were even younger, or older, without little hands to hold, I’d carry it alone as a clutch.
It’s funny that he thinks using a sewing machine seems hard, and I feel the same way about hand punching and stitching through thick leather.
I love the leathers he’s been working with. This clutch with the red leather accent is just gorgeous. It’s especially neat to watch the leather get even richer after he polishes the finished product. Kind of like with oiling wood, it really brings out the beauty of the leather.
If you’d like to buy something from his shop, you can save 10% with the coupon code CCBLOG10. They make great Christmas gifts! The double wrap ones are the most popular, and have almost sold out either on Etsy or locally, but he’ll have more up soon.
Finally, here are three of my favorite bracelets that he has for sale right now.

Wow, your hubby is very talented! I think it is neat that you share similar interest!
