The color palette of my living area – with lots of yellow, orange and red – is perfect for fall decorating. We had to run to Hobby Lobby for sidewalk chalk today, so I decided it was time to buy some fake pumpkins. I’m not much for fake plants these days. But every year that I’ve decorated indoors with real pumpkins, I’ve ended up having to clean up nasty pumpkin juice. Last year’s pretty stacks of pumpkins by the fireplace rotted really fast and unexpectedly. So I’m trying the fake kind this year.
I need to persuade Matthew to create a piece of fall art for the mantel. I stole the Grow Where You Are Planted piece from the hallway as a placeholder. I’m being very literal here, but I’m thinking of fall as a harvest time rather than planting. So I’ll switch that one piece out when I get something else.
I’m no pro decorator, especially when it comes to mantles. But I like it!
I decided to overuse Photoshop Instagram filters here. It’s a step above just posting my Instagram photos here, at least. I may have taken the photos with my iPhone, but I processed them through Photoshop. He he!
I love this living room right now. It’s so cozy, while still giving the kids room to spread out and play. The giant coffee table really finishes it off for me. We’ve spent many evenings in a row playing Scrabble Junior together on it.
