Tonight, I started messing around on my laptop with ideas for Valentine’s Day cards to send with the kids to school. I like this one, so I thought I’d share it with you guys.
My first thought was how cute sewing hearts onto card stock would be. Then, I thought what a pain doing that 22 times would be! Hearts aren’t the easiest shape to follow with a presser foot. So, since the computer was in my lap, I thought I’d see how some digital stitching looked.
I’m loving this font. In case you’re curious, it’s called Lavanderia, and it was a free download that I found out about over on How About Orange. It’s available from the Lost Type Co-Op here.
This card is set up so that it prints 4 on an 8.5″ x 11″ page. Click here to download a high resolution, printable version with 4 on a page.
My kids usually like to have some creative input in Valentine making, so I think I’ll let them glue these to a colored card stock after I print them. And of course, they get to write their names.
I hope these will make the task of coming up with less commercial looking valentines for your kids’ classes a little easier for some of you. Stay tuned, because I’m sure that between Matthew and myself, this won’t be your only option from us.
