Buyer's Guide

Buyers Guide: Craft Paper Storage

Maximize space

Not all of us have the space to store our favorite supplies. Even if you have the space you need, think about the craft supplies you will accumulate over time. You probably already have them on your wish list. Don't worry, we won't tell. Maximizing space means looking at the entire area and finding ways to maximize every inch and corner.

Choose budget-friendly options

cardstock organizer should not cost you an arm or a leg. Of course, you need something long-lasting and durable, but it doesn't have to be expensive like the multi-layer drawers or organizing carts available at IKEA. Many storage options are affordable and still durable, which is a good thing.

Consider convenience

You should always consider your comfort when organizing your paper crafting supplies. Everybody wants a Pinterest-worthy craft space. However, it won't help you if your storage isn't easy to access.

Mobility and portability

Consider the portability and mobility of your cardstock storage and other card-making supplies. You want to find a storage container or plastic bin that is portable and can hold your essentials.

Simple to clean

Some card-making supplies can be messy. However, containers and bins should be easy to clean, vacuum, or wash.

Choose simple and clean storage. You don't want to complicate things. Keep it simple with sliding drawers and stackable plastic bins.

Label your craft supplies

You should label your card-making supplies now if you haven't. This will make it much easier to locate what you need, especially if you are buried under many random supplies. There are four kinds of labeling you can use, including stamps and dies, inks and stencils.

De-clutter!

This is your chance for Marie Kondo to shine through! You can start organizing your supplies by clearing out clutter, no matter how small or large. Don't keep things that don't bring you joy. You should also make a list of your most frequently used items to ensure they are always within reach.

The functional features are what you should be focusing on. Again, this will be specific to you, the crafter, and your needs. For example, some crafters prefer a clear cardstock organizer to make it easy to find what they need. Some prefer to use covered organizers to protect their supplies from dust and prevent damage. These are some things to keep in mind.

Make it yours!

These tips and ideas are just guidelines. You still have the option to decorate your space and add your creative touches.
